Memorable Moments in the history of the Show

The Copperbelt Agricultural Show Society organised their first public show in 1957. According to Past chairman Henry J. Oosthuizen, this was a very small show with temporary stands and tent. There were a few cattle, a handfull of pigs and a small herd of dairy cattle from the only dairy farm on the y valued their success.

Copperbelt which was in Kalulushi. The Show was primarily sponsored by Anglo American Corporation which had a significant investment in the Copperbelt Mines. The early Agricultural Show featured cattle judgng of many breeds, horse judging and gymkanas, motorcycle stunts, home produce displays, farm produce and spectecular flower arrangements. Trophies and Prizes were competed for with enthusiasm and the trainers, jockeys and breeders greatly

The first ZAMINEX Show was in May 1997, and has been extremly well supported over the past ten years. Past State Presidents and the current President have opened the Exhibitions and show considerable interest in the Mining, Agricultural and Commercial displays which have developed over the years.
